Passo Stelvio

This trip can be done in one day but we decided to take it easy, spend the night in the mountains and visit some places of North-western part of Como Lake. We didn’t even wonder  how wild, windy and relaxing it is compared to the Southern part.  Area of Dongo – Domaso is a paradise for those who like kitesurf, windsurf or sailing.

Leaving the lake and heading to the north cows, horses and donkeys are the usual neighbours. Men are fishing in the middle of the river. It was our first post-pandemic ride and only one B&b close to Bormio was open at that time. Bars and restaurants started opening up with discrete attention to social distancing. But for biker social distancing is not an issue.

Next morning we moved towards Stelvio – the land of bikers and cyclists. We reached the hill covered with snow, trying not to cross this invisible line that separates our region Lombardy and Alto Adige. A couple of words with the always friendly random biker you find in these meeting points and some photos with cold snowy peaks.

30°C degrees of temperature difference in 2 hours and we are back to the valley.

Some things are better to see once than to hear about a thousand times. So have a look at our short video about Stelvio and find a road map below.
