Zegna panoramic road (Panoramica Zegna)

Biella – Bielmonte

This journey starts from Biella and continues following the state road SP232. Those who’d like to know more about local philanthropist and designer Ermenegildo Zegna can choose to stop in Zegna Foundation. Lovers of botanical gardens can visit Oasis Zegna to admire the rich national park. We normally prefer to proceed up one curve after another and make our first stop in a small restaurant with a terrace and local food and famous wine of Piedmont.

Bielmonte – Rosazza

This part of the route is very panoramic: vast valleys from one side of the road and snowy mountains from the other with slopes for skiing, endless roads going uphill and downhill. Along the way we met numerous antic churches, mountain galleries and small villages completely isolated by forest.

We’ve made a stop on a large plateau with a scenic view on a valley. People were busy with their ordinary activities: taking sun baths, watching panorama with a telescope, admiring various motorcycle models parked nearby.

Rosazza, an old village rich of art and culture. Small tour between Town Palace, the Castle and the stone bridge and we leave from the center of the town to the final stop of our itinerary – Oropa.

Rosazza – Sanctuary of Madonna di Oropa

The epic moment of this itinerary is entering the valley of Sanctuary of Madonna di Oropa named after the black Madonna you can admire inside, the most impressive architectural heritage of this area. The road leading to the sanctuary is spectacular and you can observe the monument from different angles. The territory is the place of pilgrimage of many tourists of religious, esthetic and scientific interests. Oropa observatory belongs to the national meteo-seismic network.

To top it off we bought a couple of bottles of fine Piedmont vine to uncork them at home with family.
